Our History

Established on December 10, 1987, the Santa Rosa Educational Foundation, Inc. (SREF) was founded by a dedicated group of five local business leaders. Their mission was clear: to nurture interest in Santa Rosa County public schools, identify educational needs, and garner increased community support, with a particular focus on engagement from the business community.

A significant milestone occurred in 2006 when the Santa Rosa School District appointed a Teacher on Special Assignment to serve as the full-time executive director of SREF. This move marked a pivotal moment in our organization's growth and commitment to supporting education.

In 2007, reflecting our evolving role and expanded scope, the foundation underwent a name change to become the Santa Rosa Education Foundation, Inc. This adjustment better captured our mission and emphasized our dedication to enhancing education in the Santa Rosa community.

Throughout our history, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to fostering collaboration between schools, businesses, and the community. Join us as we continue to build a legacy of supporting education and creating opportunities for Santa Rosa County student
