In April of last year, we had the privilege of hosting the inaugural Zack Butler Sports Ability Games/Special Olympics, a heartfelt tribute to our esteemed 2023 Teacher of the Year, Zack Butler.

Zack, an exceptional Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, was deeply passionate about enhancing education through community involvement. He initiated The Dolphin Games, a community event offering his special needs students a day dedicated to developing physical fitness, showcasing courage, and participating in enjoyable activities tailored for diverse abilities. Zack’s vision was to expand this program to involve more students and schools. In honor of Zack’s legacy, we transformed that dream into reality.
On April 24th, 154 special needs students stepped onto Dolphin Field, welcomed by over 100 community volunteers and district staff. It was a day filled with joy, camaraderie, and achievement. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a part in making this extraordinary day possible. Thank you for contributing to the realization of Zack’s dream and creating a lasting impact in the lives of these incredible students.
